FOR INSTITUTIONS

LMS Integration (LTI 1.3)

edu.games is an LTI 1.3 tool: teachers add games to courses in your LMS, students launch them without a separate login, and scores flow back to the LMS gradebook. Any LTI 1.3-compliant platform works — Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace/D2L, and others.

Early access. LTI integration is currently rolled out with individual institutions — we’ll set your platform up with you and stay close during onboarding.

Getting connected

Platform registrations are set up by the edu.games team. Email support@edu.games with your LMS platform details — issuer, client ID, authorization endpoint, token endpoint, JWKS URI, and deployment ID(s) — and we’ll register your platform. On your side, your LMS admin registers edu.games as an external tool using these URLs:

Login URLhttps://edu.games/api/lti/login
Redirect URLhttps://edu.games/api/lti/launch
JWKS URLhttps://edu.games/api/lti/jwks
Deep Linking URLhttps://edu.games/api/lti/launch

For teachers: deep linking

When adding content to a course, choose edu.games from your LMS’s tool picker. You’ll see a game selector; the game you pick is added to the course as a graded activity. Students click it like any other course item.

For students: launching

Clicking the activity launches the game directly — no separate edu.games registration or password. An edu.games identity is provisioned automatically from the LTI launch and a session is minted for it, so progress tracking works from the first play.

Grade passback (AGS)

Scores reach the LMS gradebook via the LTI Assignment and Grade Services. When a game reports completion through xAPI — a completed or passed statement carrying a scaled score — the score is pushed to the activity’s line item as fully graded. Games without xAPI instrumentation still launch fine; they just don’t report grades.

Licensing

LTI launches respect the same licences as the rest of the platform: free games launch for everyone, and paid games need a seat covering the student — from a teacher’s or institution-wide seat pool. See the Institutions overview for how institution-wide licences work.
