For Institutions
An institution account lets a school or district manage its teachers, buy game licences that cover every teacher’s students at once, and put its own name on edu.games — without changing how teachers already work.
Getting started
Register at edu.games/auth/register with the Institution role and enter your Institution name (school or district). The organisation is created for you, and you sign in at institution.edu.games. The sidebar has Dashboard (teacher and active-licence counts), Teachers, Browse Games, Licences and Settings.
Inviting teachers
On Teachers, enter an address under Invite a teacher and press Send invite. The teacher receives a single-use link tied to that email, valid for 7 days. Accepting requires a teacher account with the invited address — teachers without one register as a teacher first (see Accounts & Signing In for eligibility), then open the link again. The acceptance page tells them what they are agreeing to: your institution can see their game licences and license games that cover their students.
Pending invitations lists open invites with their expiry and a Revoke button; accepted teachers appear in the members table with Remove. Joining or leaving an institution never touches a teacher’s classes, students or personally bought licences.
Institution-wide licences
Browse Games shows the catalogue with each game’s price per seat per year (or Free — no licence needed). Press the licence button on a paid game to set the number of seats (1 to 500), leave auto-renew on for a yearly subscription or turn it off and pick a term of 1 to 10 years, and check out through Stripe in Australian dollars. The mechanics — what a seat is, renewals, cancellation, refunds — are the same as for teachers and are described in Buying Games & Licences.
The difference is scope. An institution licence covers the students of every teacher in your organisation: the game appears on those students’ dashboards automatically, and each distinct student claims one seat from the pool the first time they play, first come, first served. Teachers do not need to assign or buy anything.
The Licences page
Licences is a read-only table of every active licence in the organisation — institution pools and those your teachers bought themselves — with columns Game, Holder, Seats, Assigned (seats claimed) and Expires. Use it to spot pools that are nearly full or about to lapse.
Branded subdomain
Under Settings → Branded subdomain, type a name and press Claim subdomain to get yourschool.edu.games — free with every institution account. Names are 3 to 30 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens (no leading or trailing hyphen); some generic or reserved words are refused, and each organisation can hold one subdomain at a time — press Remove before choosing another. The subdomain serves a landing page carrying your institution’s name with a sign-in that sends teachers and students to their usual portals.
Connecting your LMS
Schools running Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard or another LTI 1.3 platform can launch edu.games games from inside the LMS, with accounts provisioned automatically. Setup steps are in LMS Integration (LTI 1.3).
