For Parents
A parent account exists so that nobody outside a school can work with your child on edu.games without your say-so. You approve each tutor, see which children are linked to you, and can withdraw a tutor’s access at any time.
When you’ll hear from us
When a tutor adds your child to their roster, the invitation is emailed to you, not to your child. It is single-use and expires after 7 days. Nothing about your child is shared with the tutor unless you accept. (Tutors of adult learners, 18 and over, invite the student directly — no parent account is involved.)
Approving a tutor
- Open the link in the email. The page is headed Approve tutoring for [your child’s name] and names the tutor.
- Sign in, or press Create an account — a free parent account with the email the invitation was sent to. The invitation only works with that address.
- Enter your child’s email address. If they already have an edu.games student account, it is linked; if not, the account is created and your child is emailed a link to set their own password.
- Press Approve tutoring for [name].
What you are approving is specific: the tutor can put learning games on your child’s dashboard and see your child’s progress in those games. They cannot see anything else about the account, change it, or contact your child through edu.games.
Your portal
- Dashboard at parent.edu.games — a Waiting for your approval list of open invitations and a count of linked children.
- My Children — each child with their email, the date they were linked, and a Tutors list showing every tutor and when their access started.
Revoking a tutor
On My Children, press Revoke access beside the tutor and confirm. It takes effect immediately: your child leaves that tutor’s roster, the tutor’s games disappear from your child’s dashboard, and the tutor can no longer see their progress. If you change your mind, the tutor can send a fresh invitation.
Your child’s account and school
Your child’s student account is the same one they may use at school. A school teacher adds them to a class with a class code, and a tutor is linked through you; the two are independent, and a teacher never sees a tutor’s games or vice versa. The student guide explains what your child sees.
Privacy and consent
Games record play events (attempts, passes, scores, time) against your child’s account so that teachers and tutors can see progress. These records are kept indefinitely. How this data is handled, who processes it, and how to ask for it to be deleted are set out in the Privacy Policy, Data Retention & Privacy and, for schools, the Data Processing Agreement. Use of the service is under the Terms of Service.
